Pledge to Join #Fast4OurJobs launching August 10th to support BC's Laid-Off Hotel Workers!

BC Provincial Government

BC’s hotel workers are launching a Fast for Our Jobs because 50,000 hotel workers are at risk of losing our livelihoods if the province fails to act. We need your help to send an urgent message to the BC Legislative Assembly before they end their summer session. Will you support the province’s 50,000 laid-off hotel workers and pledge your solidarity today?

We the undersigned are calling on the BC Legislative Assembly to immediately act and create a legal right for the province’s 50,000 laid-off hotel workers to return to their jobs as the economy recovers from an unforeseeable health crisis. It would be unconscionable for the province to consider giving the tourism industry a $680 million taxpayer bailout without guaranteeing laid-off workers a legal right to return to the jobs they were asked to leave to protect the public health of the community.

Laid-off workers and their families are facing an unprecedented crisis right now. Employers are already taking advantage of the COVID-19 health crisis to slash jobs. More workers will lose their jobs if the province fails to act. We support the Fasters and all BC’s hotel, hospitality, and tourism workers who deserve the right to return to their jobs.

We want the province to act now to support BC's 50,000 laid -off hotel workers!
