Fight Cuts in Unemployment Benefits! Extend $600 PUC Benefits!

Donald Trump, Senator Pat Toomey

Extend Pandemic Unemployment Compensation ($600/week) until at least January 2021

Release all benefit payments now, answer the phones, no more delays!

Address the crisis of Black and Brown unemployment!

In the midst of a movement for racial justice, Black unemployment continues to increase in America and Trump is proposing massive cuts in unemployment benefits.

Black (16.8%) and Latino (17.6%) unemployment rates are still soaring — disproportionately higher than white unemployment which is also unacceptably high. As many as one in three people have not yet received the unemployment compensation benefits they are owed.

And now Donald Trump and the Republican Party are trying to cut off the crucial Pandemic Unemployment Compensation $600 weekly supplement. It is set to expire on July 31st. These funds have provided stimulus to the entire economy and their loss will endanger literally millions of lives, as hundreds of thousands of households across the country are relying on t them to survive.

The Philadelphia Unemployment Project, which has been fighting for the rights of unemployed workers for 45 years, is demanding the following:

Extend Pandemic Unemployment Compensation ($600/week) until at least January 2021
