Fund Anniston's Law for Krabbe NBS

Louisiana State Legislature and Governor John Bel Edwards

Beautiful Anniston Bazar was born in Louisiana on April 26, 2014 and went to heaven on April 5, 2020.

Although Anniston had a deadly disease called Krabbe Leukodystrophy, her life could have been saved if Louisiana had included Krabbe in the state’s newborn screening (NBS) program at the time of her birth.

This simple and inexpensive test is literally the difference between life and death for children like Anniston. Anniston’s Law was passed in Louisiana to add Krabbe to the state’s newborn screening panel in 2016 but has not yet been implemented due to a lack of funding.

Considerable progress has been made in the past four years, making it easier than ever for Louisiana to finally begin screening for Krabbe at birth.

Please help give children like Anniston the chance at life that they deserve.

Join Anniston’s family in their fight for Krabbe NBS to become a reality in Louisiana by signing and sharing this petition today!
