Two hands grip two cans by the pool

After a study published in the Journal of Hazardous Materials found high levels of BPA in canned beverages, we did some tests of our own to see if this multi billion-dollar health drink industry could actually expose you to unwanted chemicals. Unfortunately, it can.

We found BPA in eleven brands of coconut water. Some of the cans were even labeled "BPA free"!

BPA has no place in our coconut water. When it winds up in your body, it can mimic hormones like estrogen and block the receptors of other hormones. Exposure to BPA has been linked to everything from reproductive dysfunction to diabetes; from heart disease to erectile dysfunction; from cancer to brain and behavior disorders.

We just sent legal notices to these coconut water companies as a first step to get BPA out of their coconut water. Can you add your name to our petition to add some external pressure? We know we can get BPA and all bisphenols out of coconut water, but only if we band together to hold these so-called “BPA Free” coconut water companies accountable.

New testing by the Center for Environmental Health (CEH) found BPA in your coconut water — even in cans labeled as “BPA Free.”

BPA is an endocrine disruptor that has been linked to reproductive dysfunction and brain and behavior disorders. The chemical has been linked to the development of diabetes, heart disease, erectile dysfunction, and cancer.

I support CEH in its efforts to remove BPA from your coconut water. The time is now to reformulate your products and adjust your manufacturing processes to eliminate this chemical of concern for the health of us all.
