Give Madison Schools Resources Before Trying Charters

Dr. Jesse Register, Director of Schools for Metro Nashville Public Schools and Chris Barbic, Superintendent of Achievement School District

Madison and Neely's Bend Middle Schools are targeted for takeover by LEAD Academy. It's clear from this week's meetings that parents, students, educators, and the community do not want these schools turned into charters. Over and over parents have asked that available resources be directed to these schools before resorting to charterization.

Sign here to tell Dr. Register and MNPS to direct appropriate resources to these schools, and tell Chris Barbic of Achievement School District to respect the Madison community's desire to reject a charter takeover.

As parents, educators, students, and community members, we want Madison and Neely's Bend Middle Schools to remain as schools under the jurisdiction of Metro Nashville Public Schools, and not in the Achievement School District. Our schools need more resources in order to meet the needs of the students and our community. We know the students in these schools can thrive if they are given a real chance to do so. We ask you to respect the Madison community's wishes and provide us with adequate resources before turning our schools over to the Achievement School District.
