Give Seniors and Veterans the Same 3.9% Raise that Top CEOs Got

We petition Representative John Katko (NY-24) and Speaker Paul Ryan to:

  • Support a one-time payment in 2016 equal to 3.9% of Social Security’s average benefit (about $581) as proposed by Representative Tammy Duckworth and Senator Elizabeth Warren.
  • Support use of a more accurate inflation measure that doesn’t short-change seniors and persons with disabilities, the CPI for the Elderly.
  • Oppose all cuts to Social Security, including further increases in the retirement age for working Americans.
  • Oppose all efforts to partially or fully privatize Social Security.
It’s the right thing to do. Top CEOs got their raises. Now it’s time for seniors, people with disabilities, veterans and others to get a raise!
