Google: Affordable Housing Now!

Google

Google has offices in 25 major cities around the United States, and its parent company Alphabet is one of the five biggest tech companies in the world. Tech companies’ highly paid employees, most of whom are white and male, compete for houses and apartments in the same cities as regular working people, including the industry’s food service workers who are mostly women and people of color. Rents in Mountain View, Seattle, New York, Los Angeles, and other cities are going up. Cafeteria workers at Google work hard to feed tech employees every day and deserve to be able to afford to live in the communities near where they work.

We the undersigned are calling on Google to take its service workers into account when expanding its business by providing affordable housing for its service workers.
