Tell Tallahassee: we voted NO on big cruise ships in Key West, and we meant it!

Florida State Representative Jim Mooney; Florida State Senator Ana Maria Rodriguez; Florida Governor Ron DeSantis

Florida lawmakers are attempting to thwart the will of Key West voters by "pre-empting" our referendum limiting the size of cruise ships in our port.

Tell them, enough is enough! Respect the will of the voters and stop it with the constant pre-emption bills.

We voted to limit the size of the cruise ships that can come to the port in Key West so that we can save our environment and our beloved town.

Sign now and tell the Florida legislature: Hands Off Key West!

We, the citizens of Key West, are tired of being ignored. We passed a referendum in the fall of 2020 to limit the size of the cruise ships that can come to the port in Key West so that we can save our environment and our beloved town.

Now we are hearing that Tallahassee lawmakers want to take away our voices, cancel our votes, and ignore our voices. Enough is enough! We've had it with these constant pre-emption bills. Please defeat SB 426 -- it is an attack on Key West, and it's an attack on home rule. Hands off Key West!

Sincerely,
