Sheriff Hodgson: Take Down That Confederate Flag!
Sheriff Thomas Hodgson
In June of 2020 it was brought to the public's attention that Bristol County Sheriff Thomas Hodgson has a picture of himself wearing a tie with confederate colors in his office. He insists he will continue to display a symbol of the pro-slavery Confederacy, even after he was criticized for it by community members who held a rally against him and white supremacy in Bristol County.
Displaying a symbol of racism anywhere is unacceptable, but especially in a public office. Bristol County for Correctional Justice Demands that Sheriff Hodgson takes down this photo. We encourage Massachusetts residents to sign this petition! No donations requested.

The photo of Sheriff Hodgson wearing a tie with the Confederate States of America flag is not just an insult to African-Americans but dishonors the many Americans of all backgrounds who fought and died to end slavery and preserve the Union. We demand that Sheriff Hodgson take down that photograph from his office wall and disavow the flag.
