Foreign governments and anti-American forces want to disrupt U.S. elections. And Congress has been unable to unite around a single piece of legislation ― much less a robust package of bills ― to shore up our cyber defenses, improve election integrity in our states, or shine a light on disinformation campaigns targeting voters.
A critical first step would be to pass the bipartisan Honest Ads Act ― crafted with help from Issue One. This bill would safeguard our elections from foreign interference; subject online political ads to the same rules as TV and radio; and allow voters to know who is behind these ads.
