Tell Logan Hospital that Logan women deserve access to relationship based, community maternity care

Leaders of Logan Hospital

In Logan approximately 1 in 10 women have little or no contact with support and healthcare services during their pregnancy – about double the average for Queensland.

Logan mothers and babies deserve better. They deserve maternity services that are:

·       based on evidence of what is best for mothers and babies

·       hosted in a welcoming community setting

·        based on a continuous relationship with one midwife from the first antenatal, and into post-         natal care

·       culturally safe, and

·       connected into community supports and social activities.

Logan Together, along with parents, community partners and Logan Hospital staff have been working for 12 months to develop a model that deals with this issue.

Now it’s time to show the community’s support and stand up for what’s best for mothers and babies.

Your voice is essential. Sign the petition to tell Logan Hospital that Logan women and babies deserve access to community maternity care.

Your support can ensure that community maternity care happens in Logan in 2017!

We believe babies and new mothers in Logan should have the best maternity care.

We support the Community Maternity Hubs model developed by Logan Together to do this through continuity of midwifery care, cultural safety, connection to community centres, and community governance.

We urge all leaders in Logan Together and Logan Hospital to continue their support for this model.

We pledge to take further action when needed to ensure that these Community Maternity Hubs are set-up successfully and have a sustainable, long term presence in our community.
