ITEP Organizing Petition

East Baton Rouge ITEP Committee

It is critical that we work together to spread awareness about this issue so we, as taxpayers, can let our elected officials know just how big of an impact this has on our communities.

As your constituent, I ask that you put the interests of the community before corporations when setting standards for the approval of ITEP proposals.

Please REJECT any ITEP resolution proposals that would allow for the rubber-stamping of property tax exemption applications. Proposals should clearly demonstrate significant job creation and return on investment to warrant our tax dollars.

As of now, only Lemont Coles' plan will meet these standards.

It is crucial to have clear accountability measures when we're talking about money that could benefit our communities. Our citizens deserve this.

Thank you.
