It’s time for the Philadelphia Pension Board to Invest in Philadelphia!

Philadelphia Pension Board

I call upon the Pension Board to better meet the needs of City workers and all our residents by investing at least 2% of the City's Pension Fund in local, financially sound, economically targeted investments.

Right now, our City’s Pension Fund invests its $8 billion portfolio in projects all around the world when they should be investing right here in Philadelphia. Meanwhile, people and small businesses here in the City are struggling to find fair financing for their homes and businesses, with disinvested communities feeling it the worst.

Critical needs in affordable housing, energy, and transportation remain unmet in our City, while financing opportunities here will provide returns with comparable risks to those available elsewhere. It is time to invest our tax dollars in our City and its people.
