Join Us In The Fight Against Proposed Cuts To Our IHSS Program

Governor Newsom

The May Revision of the budget for Fiscal Year 2024-25 includes two proposals that cut access to IHSS services:

  1. There is a proposal to eliminate IHSS hours for CA’s undocumented population. This could impact thousands of Californians that just gained access to Medi-Cal and IHSS hours. This goes against Local 2015’s Long Term Care for All agenda and the Governor’s Master Plan for Aging that seeks to provide a California for All Ages.
  2. There is a proposal to eliminate the IHSS Emergency Provider Backup System. The elimination of this backup system will be harmful for IHSS consumers in need of a backup IHSS provider in case of an emergency. Let’s stand in solidarity with our consumers in opposition to this cut.

Raise your voice against these cuts to critical services for undocumented people, people with disabilities and older adults. Join us to fight back by signing this petition now!

I am writing to express my grave concerns regarding two proposals in the May Revision of the budget for Fiscal Year 2024-25:

1) Eliminating IHSS hours for California’s undocumented population
2) Eliminating the IHSS Emergency Provider Backup System

I urge you to reconsider these proposals that undermine critical services for undocumented individuals, people with disabilities, and older adults in California.
