Legalize Missing Middle Housing in Nashville
Nashville Metro Council
With laws that ban a whole swath of affordable housing styles across most of Nashville, suburban sprawl has forced the clear cutting of wildlands in order to make space for new subdivisions and forced everyone into a car dependent lifestyle, no matter how much it costs. In order to fix our housing shortage crisis and preserve and restore our forests, wetlands, and grasslands, we need to legalize middle density housing which has created the most charming and connected cities all across the world and in America's most cherished neighborhoods.
Tell Nashville Metro Council to legalize Missing Middle Housing all across the city today.

Dear Metro Council,
I am writing you today to demand that Nashville does its part to fight the climate crisis and address affordable housing. All across this city, affordable housing styles have been banned, nicknamed Missing Middle Housing, and as a result, suburban sprawl has proliferated while wildlands get clear cut to make way. Today, we recognize our multiple crises often share a root cause. As we begin to address our housing shortage with gentle density and up-zoning all transit corridors to accommodate more neighbors, the infill will lead to a higher tax base with which we will be able to sufficiently pay our city servants like teachers, firefighters, and sanitary workers.
We urge you to legalize missing middle housing today.
