Let's End Discrimination in the Workplace!

Pennsylvania General Assembly

All working people - regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity - have the right to have a job, own a home, purchase services and goods, and receive healthcare.

No Pennsylvanian should get married on a Saturday, post pictures of their wedding on a Sunday, and by fired on Monday because of the gender of their spouse.

In Pennsylvania, our LGBTQ brothers and sisters can be fired from their job, be denied for a mortgage or bank loan, or be refused service solely because of their gender or who they love. This is wrong.

It is time to end this discrimination, and for Pennsylvania to join the more than 22 other states that have protections for LGBTQ people. Dozens of municipalities have already adopted policies to end discrimination, but we need to do better.

Pennsylvania's General Assembly needs to pass legislation that will protect all citizens of the Commonwealth from discrimination on the basis of their gender identity and sexual orientation.
It is time for the Commonwealth to specifically outlaw this discrimination in employment, housing, and commerce.
