Levi Strauss & Co: Support Your Community and Honor the Boycott of the Hyatt Fisherman's Wharf and Le Meridien Hotels!

Anna Walker, Director of Public Policy, Levi Strauss & Co.

Workers at the Hyatt Fisherman’s Wharf and Le Meridien hotels in San Francisco are asking their employers for a fair process to decide on unionization without intimidation, harassment or fear of retaliation from management. Unfortunately, the hotel has refused to honor these requests.

Workers are asking all people of conscience to support them in this struggle, and boycott the Hyatt Fisherman’s Wharf and Le Meridien hotels by not eating, meeting or sleeping at these hotels until workers are treated with the dignity and respect they deserve.

In October of  2016, we met with Anna Walker, the Senior Director of Global Policy and Advocacy at Levi Strauss & Co., and asked her to have Levi’s honor the boycott and stop housing employees and guests at these hotels. We haven’t heard from her, or anyone else from Levi’s since.

In the words of Levi Strauss & Co. CEO Walter Haas, Jr., “Each of us has a capacity to make business not only a source of economic wealth, but also a force for a social and economic justice.”

Levi’s has the capacity to be a force for social and economic justice by supporting their community and honoring the boycott of the Hyatt Fisherman’s Wharf and Le Meridien.

Join the more than 40 organizations that have endorsed the BOYCOTT, including:

o  The San Francisco Board of Supervisors

o  Latino Democratic Club

o  SF Women’s Political Club

o  Harvey Milk Democratic Club

o  ACLU

o  The Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights

o  Chinese for Affirmative Action

o  Asian Law Caucus
