Tell FL Lawmakers: Lift Medical Marijuana limits for disabled veterans

The Florida Legislature

In Florida, over 500,000 citizens treat their medical conditions with Medical Marijuana. Specifically, some military veterans use medical marijuana to treat conditions related to their service, including PTSD. Unfortunately, current state rules restrict the amount of time, and the number of refills a doctor can prescribe Medical Marijuana as a treatment, even though these restrictions have no basis in science or medicine. Senator Brandes wants to change that.

Senate Bill 162 would raise the supply limits a physician may certify a patient for, and it would increase those limits even more if the patient is a service-disabled veteran or a permanently disabled person. This change in the rules would be good for patients, for small dispensaries, and good for veterans who have served and have a disability because of their service.

Please vote in favor of SB162 (Physician Certifications for the Medical Use of Marijuana). Patients who are disabled — especially military veterans — can have increased quality of life, and less pain, with higher supply limits of medical marijuana.
