Maine needs a shelter-in-place mandate today.

The point of no return for Maine began 2 days ago and ends on March 25th. Our Hospitals do not have the capacity to treat people.

Maine medical professionals are significantly limiting people's eligibility to test for Covid-19. Therefore, the number of cases reported does not accurately reflect the actual spread or containment of the virus. It is imperative that unless adequate testing occurs we act AS IF we have the virus and we take steps to contain it; shelter in place.

Anything less is putting more lives at risk.

Politics and partisanship have no place in this moment. We need a comprehensive, collective effort by Mainers today to protect our health and well-being and to preserve and uphold the safety, health, and well-being of our healthcare professionals.

We need our state leaders led by Governor Mills to issue a Shelter-In-Place mandate today. We need our Federal leaders: Senators King and Collins and Representatives Pingree and Golden to join the call on a national level to shelter in place.

Please add your name to this petition to let our leaders know we support a Shelter-In-Place mandate for Maine.

We can pull through this if we work together.
