Make Outdoor Dining and Streeteries Permanent
Philadelphia City Council / Mayor Jim Kenney
Small and independent restaurant/bar businesses have struggled immensely during the pandemic, just like everyone else, but with many provisions that helped sustain us set to expire at the end of 2021, our communities have to act now.
The city's current outdoor dining provisions are set to expire at the end of 2021. Philadelphians have a rare opportunity to reimagine our public space in a bold and forward thinking way with an accessible, fair and equitable process. We believe making outdoor dining and streeteries a permanent part of our cityscape will foster a public space that is safer, greener, and more joyous. Our vibrant neighborhoods & unique small businesses are the backbone of our city. We celebrate those neighborhoods and businesses by supporting a permanent outdoor dining and streetery initiative and urge the Philadelphia City Council and Mayor Kenney to do the same.
