Marin County for an End to U.S Funding of Israel's Genocide and establishing a Permanent Ceasefire

As of April 2025 there are over 200,000 Palestinians, including over 140,000 women and children, who have been killed directly and indirectly by Israeli military action since October 7th, 2023. Every county, city, and town elected official must call for an end to U.S. funding of Israel's genocide and demand that Israel abide to the ceasefire agreement, sending a clear message to Congress and the President that this is the demand of the people! People living in Marin County are world citizens first who stand in solidarity with all those oppressed by the Imperialism of Israel and the United States. We will not rest until the genocide is stopped!

We the people of Marin County that are located on the unceded ancestral lands of the Coast Miwok people of present-day Marin and southern Sonoma counties urge all Marin County elected officials immediately break their silence and call for an end to the United Sates funding of Israel's genocide, establishing a permanent ceasefire, and punishment of Benjamin Netanyahu and his accomplices.
WHEREAS, All human life is precious, and the targeting of civilians is a violation of international humanitarian law; and
WHEREAS, Between October 7, 2023 and April, 2025, the Israeli military has killed over 200,000 Palestinians, including over 140,000 women and children, and wounded hundreds of thousands more; and
WHEREAS, 2 million Palestinian lives are at imminent risk if the United States does not stop funding Israel and a permanent ceasefire is put in place that allows humanitarian aid to be delivered without delay; and
WHEREAS, All elected officials of Marin County must use the platform provided by their office to advocate for measures that will prevent death and violence; and
WHEREAS, The United States Federal Government holds immense power to save Palestinian lives.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the people of the County of Marin
1.Demand an immediate end to all existing and any future military aid to Israel from the United States: and
2.Demand the United States immediately direct Israel to abide to the ceasefire agreement, ending the murder of Palestinians; and
3.Calls upon the United States to promptly send and facilitate the entry of all the agreed upon humanitarian assistance to Gaza; and
4.Calls for an end to Israeli apartheid as well as the occupation and blockade of Palestinian land by Israeli military forces; and
5.Demands the United States holds Benjamin Netanyahu and his accomplices accountable for their war crimes.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That upon passage a copy of this Resolution be sent to the Office of U.S. President, the Office of U.S. Representative Jared Huffman, the Office of U.S. Senator Alex Padilla, and the Office of U.S. Senator Laphonza Butler.
