Governor Reynolds: Mask Up Iowa
Governor Kim Reynolds
At the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis, scientists and public health officials across Iowa called on the Governor to issue a shelter in place order to keep Iowans safe. But Gov. Reynolds ignored science and put Iowans' lives at risk by letting corporate leaders make decisions that resulted in outbreaks and COVID-19 hotspots across Iowa.
Governor Reynolds: your plan is a national embarrassment, and it has failed us all.
Now that COVID-19 is spreading rapidly across our state, we need to work together to contain this deadly disease. In many states across the US, elected leaders have done the right thing. They are requiring universal use of masks and face shields in workplaces and public spaces. Why won't Iowa do the same?
Governor Reynolds' latest COVID-19 directives are confusing, don't require masks in schools, or even in all public spaces.
Until we have a vaccine, we need to #MaskUpIA.
Add your name on the right to tell Governor Reynolds: we must protect each other with sound policy grounded in science, not corporate greed. Implement a statewide face covering policy today!

Governor Reynolds,
Communities around the world have successfully slowed the spread of COVID-19 using universal use of masks and face shields in workplaces and public spaces.
I am deeply concerned that Iowa's mask guidance does not go far enough to help us contain the virus as we head into winter. Public health experts agree: statewide face covering policies are the best chance we have at mitigating the spread of COVID-19.
Until we have a vaccine, we need to #MaskUpIA.
We need a statewide face-covering policy, guaranteed hazard pay, and union rights for essential workers. This policy will put the health and safety of essential workers in Iowa’s packing plants and restaurants first.
Your dangerous pro-corporate agenda has harmed workers, especially workers who are poor, undocumented, disabled, and people of color. We need a people-centered response that protects our health through a universal face-covering policy.
Sincerely,
