PETITION: Medical Marijuana in North Carolina

North Carolina General Assembly

There is no doubt you believe in allowing patients the right to a natural medicine that's been around for thousands of years, that's why you clicked on this. Do you want to give those patients in North Carolina that right? We do.

Its shameful to think that because these patients are bound by imaginary lines, that they can't have the same freedom someone in another state can to self-medicate using thc herbs, butters, oils, etc.

We want to get as much petition support behind medical marijuana in NC as early as possible so we can use this petition as a tool in showing the constituent's support for legislation later in the year when Representative Alexander introduces it.

We ask only NC citizens sign this petition please to ensure we give the members of the General Assembly as pure of a petition as possible regarding North Carolinians citizenship.

Please sign and then share this petition (located below).

By upholding the duty you took during your oath, please consider me, your constituent who signed this petition and the act I wish you would execute by voting "Yay" for medical marijuana during this 2018 session.

I don't believe more research needs to be done considering its been studied since the 1970's and most of the synthetic drugs on the market passed through the FDA in a matter of months or a couple years. Furthermore, 80% of North Carolinians support medical marijuana reform for their state (Elon University Poll/ 2017). I ask that you allow the registered doctors of North Carolina to use the degrees they took years to earn, to make the decision on whether or not the patient can use medical marijuana products. It is important that while I understand you may not agree with it personally and I know that a petition doesn't have any power legislatively in North Carolina, this petition acts as a gauge for you to use to see the support this legislation brings. I encourage you to reach out to North Carolina NORML if you have questions, comments, concerns, or if you are looking for resources. I also urge you to act swiftly and steadily for those constituents who suffer daily.
