Netflix: Stop streaming CBP’s propaganda

Netflix is streaming reality show, Border Security: America's Front Line, a series that follows Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents as they “safeguard the nation’s crossings.” But CBP is far from making this country safe. Time and time again, CBP has made it clear that they’re dedicated to carrying out Trump’s racist, xenophobic agenda. Its agents have been targeting racial minorities, separating children from their families, abusing LGBTQ+ people, and other horrific acts. Airing a program that glorifies these atrocities is both disturbing and unacceptable.

CPB makes a habit of demonizing Black and Latinx people. They create fear in our communities and make our people feel unsafe in their own homes. Border Security: America’s Front Line, however, frames CBP agents as heroes. But there is nothing heroic about an agency that tear gassed refugees, continues to jail migrant children, and has even denied people necessities like soap and flu vaccines. What this show really does is perpetuate xenophobia, and create fear and hysteria towards immigrants and Black and Brown communities.

Tell Netflix to stop streaming programs about law enforcement.

Border Security: America's Front Line, features Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) agents who claim to “safeguard the nation’s crossings.” In reality, CBP agents do nothing of the sort. CBP has made it clear that they’re committed to carrying out Trump’s racist, xenophobic agenda. Its agents target racial minorities, separate children from their families, abuse LGBTQ+ people, and commit other horrific acts. CBP creates fear in Black and Brown communities and make our people feel unsafe in their own homes. They tear gassed refugees, continue to jail migrant children, and have even denied people necessities like soap and flu vaccines.

Allowing this show to stream glorifies the atrocities that CPB has committed. It also perpetuate xenophobia and encourages people to fear immigrants and Black and Brown communities. Television programs have the power to influence the way people of color are perceived and treated. We're calling on you to immediately pull Border Security: America's Front Line from the platform and institute a policy prohibiting reality shows that follow police, immigration, and other law enforcement agents.
