We, the undersigned employees at New Mexico Behavioral Health Institute, and citizens, demand immediate action by the New Mexico State Personnel Office, the Department of Health and the New Mexico Legislature. The DOH and SPO are doing a grave disservice to the clients and the employees at NMBHI by requiring staff to regularly work 72 hour weeks (40 hours regular, 32 hours overtime). The DOH and SPO must immediately address patient and employee safety concerns resulting from an over 30% vacancy rate and low-pay.
