Now that the 2021 redistricting process has officially begun -- we must speak out! New York's mapmakers need to hear loud and clear that We the People will not be excluded from the redistricting process or silenced by gerrymandering.
Voters should choose their elected officials, not the other way around. And any efforts by politicians to interfere with the process -- by using data that wasn’t intended for redistricting or drawing rigged maps that ignore communities’ voices -- can’t be swept under the rug.
