Open Mar-a-Lago to Hurricane Irma victims

Donald Trump

With emergency shelters in southern Florida at full capacity, Donald Trump's eight resorts and golf clubs in the region, including the infamous "southern White House," Mar-a-Lago, remain shuttered to all but the richest of hurricane victims -- those who can afford to the $200,000 membership.

CNN reports that "in addition to Trump's "Winter White House" at the Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach, the Trump Organization has multiple properties near or on the South Florida coastline: Trump Grande, Trump International Beach Resort, and Trump Towers in Sunny Isles, Trump Hollywood in Hollywood Beach, Trump Plaza in West Palm Beach, plus Trump National Golf Club in Jupiter and Trump National Doral in Doral."

It's time for Donald Trump to open Mar-a-Lago and all of his resorts in Florida to anyone seeking refuge from Hurricane Irma. And while Mar-a-Lago is reportedly in an evacuation zone, surely all of Trump's 8+ properties in the area haven't all been evacuated. And in any case, the water will recede in a few days, and people will still need a place to stay. He can open it then.

American taxpayers shell out $3 million every weekend Trump spends golfing at Mar-a-Lago. It's time for King Louis to show a little love in return.
