Oppose "Right to Work" in West Virginia
West Virginia Senate
In the coming days the West Virginia Senate will be taking a vote on a confusing, controversial bill that would let government tell employers and employees how they are allowed to negotiate with one another.
This harmful bill which has a deceitful name called “Right to Work” would lead to much more dangerous workplaces, hurt our families’ pensions and could take upwards of $5,000 per year out of our paychecks. Billionaires from outside our state claim that this terrible law will help create jobs, but 7 out of 10 states with the highest unemployment have Right to Work.
We need you to tell your legislators to oppose Right to Work. If they decide to oppose it, we won’t have to worry about government telling people like you and me how we can negotiate with our employers.

I urge you to oppose Right to Work. This bill is the wrong priority for West Virginia, and there’s a lot of misinformation out there about what it will do. It wouldn’t create any jobs but, as numerous studies indicate from other states where right to work has been enacted, it will cut pay and benefits, make workplaces less safe and make it harder for working people to have a voice on the job.
