PA Legislature: Create Vote Centers in Pennsylvania for the November Election!
Pennsylvania Legislature
Every eligible Pennsylvanian has always had the right to cast a ballot in person, but many voters had difficulty exercising that right during our primary -- there was widespread voter confusion, with polling places consolidated due to the pandemic.
We may see this widespread confusion again in November -- both due to increased turnout and the unlikeliness that all existing polling places will open as usual. But our Legislature has the power to limit voter confusion and make it easier for Pennsylvanians across the state to vote -- by creating vote centers.
Vote centers are an alternative to our traditional polling places -- voters can cast their ballot on Election Day at any vote center in their county, regardless of residential address. They just show up wherever it’s most convenient for them, whether near their workplace, school, or home.
And, because voters can show up at any of the vote centers in their county, they don’t have to worry about tracking last-minute changes or consolidation of polling locations. This limits voter confusion -- paving the way for any eligible voter to easily cast a ballot.
The Legislature should authorize county boards of elections to create vote centers, which will minimize confusion and maximize accessibility for Pennsylvanians.

The more options voters have this November, the easier it will be for them to exercise their right to vote -- the cornerstone of a democratic society. By authorizing county boards of elections to create vote centers, the Pennsylvania Legislature will make it easier for Pennsylvania voters across the state to cast a ballot -- minimizing widespread voter confusion and maximizing voters’ access to their democracy.
