Petition for Town Hall Meeting

Congressman Robert Wittman (Virginia -1)

Congressman Rob Wittman (Virginia-1) has not held a town hall meeting with Northern Virginia constituents since his sole visit one week before election day, 2016.

Town hall meetings were an essential component of the democratic formation of our great country, and they remain just as relevant today. James Madison and Alexander Hamilton believed that "the representative ought to be acquainted with the interests and circumstances of his constituents (Federalist 56)" while stating that "members of Congress have a duty to act in alignment with the ideologies and priorities of their districts."

With the massive deluge of calls and concerns about the direction of Americas's new elected leadership, we request that Congressman Wittman convene a series of town hall meetings throughout his district to ensure his constituents views are heard on the issues important to them.
