Dear Members of the Buffalo Common Council:

We are writing to express our strong support for an increase in funding for youth services and to ask that the increase be reflected in the City of Buffalo’s 2024-2025 budget. We believe that investing in youth services, such as full-service community centers with longer hours, tutoring, youth employment programs, and culturally responsive mental health care access is crucial for building a safer community for all Buffalonians.

Full-service community centers are indispensable components in addressing these pressing issues.

As an organization, we join Voice Buffalo, in the belief that investing in safe spaces and comprehensive youth programming is pivotal for promoting healthy development and enhancing the overall quality of life within our community. We are advocating for the allocation of $10 million in funding, specifically earmarked for youth services in the 2024-2025 City of Buffalo budget. By prioritizing these resources, we can begin to create an environment that supports the well-being and growth of our young population.

We urge you to consider and support the proposal for increased funding for youth services in the upcoming budget. By doing so, we can invest in the future of our city and provide our youth with the resources they need to thrive.
