Petition of Support for HB306, The Opt Out Bill
Governor Rauner, IL General Assembly, and Dr. Chris Koch
We, the constituents of Illinois, call on our elected officials in the Illinois General Assembly, in both our House of Representatives and the Senate, to fully support HB306, The Opt Out Bill.
Our current state policy of student refusal is putting our children in an impossible situation.
Our state needs a clear, consistent and humane opt out policy.
Many states already have opt out laws. There is neither precedent nor any legal requirement for the federal government to withhold funding on the basis of students opting out of standardized testing.
In order to guarantee the right to opt out of state-mandated testing, we request the full support of all elected officials in the Illinois General Assembly. We, the undersigned, urge you to support HB306, The Opt Out Bill.
