Petition: Tell Nestlé and the world’s chocolate industry to support a living wage for cocoa farmers

Nestlé executives and World Cocoa Foundation members

When you get a good deal on a chocolate treat, you should be able to enjoy it fully. You shouldn’t have to worry about who is paying the price for it.

But sadly, our cheap prices often come at the expense of cocoa farmers who are living in extreme poverty and struggling just to survive, and chocolate mega-company Nestlé has refused to promise a fair living wage to all the cocoa farmers in their supply chains. This means many farmers facing dire poverty take drastic steps like pulling their kids out of school to work on the farm.

Child labor and unfair prices makes even the tastiest chocolate bitter with shame. Sign the petition and demand that Nestlé commit to a fair wage for cocoa farmers, worldwide.

Cocoa farmers deserve a fair price for a living income. Too many farmers are living in extreme poverty and even putting their children to work on their farms. We want our chocolate grown by people who are paid fairly. We urge you to guarantee a living income for all cocoa farmers, worldwide.
