Sara Lou’s daughter, Chloe, was born with a severe disability. Though Chloe’s condition doesn’t stop her from doing some of her favorite things—such as spending time outdoors on the swing set—it does present a challenge when it comes to paying for her medical needs despite the fact that Sara Lou has a full-time job as a social worker.

Sara Lou is able to afford Chloe’s health care thanks to the Katie Beckett program, which provides Medicaid to children who normally wouldn’t qualify. But all of that is now at risk.

Republicans are relentlessly trying to replace the Affordable Care Act with a health care bill that will leave millions without health insurance. They want to impose block grants for Medicaid, which will threaten the future of the Katie Beckett Program and other services that provide a safety-net for kids, like Chloe, who would otherwise be left behind.

If Republicans get their way and make Trumpcare the law of the land, Sara Lou doesn’t know how she will be able to get Chloe the health care that she needs .
