Pfizer: Save lives - stop profiteering on breast cancer drug palbociclib

Ian C. Read, CEO of Pfizer

Hi, I’m Emma. The breast cancer medicine I need costs less than £1 per pill to make. But multinational drug company Pfizer are trying to charge the NHS over £300! This profiteering means the NHS can’t afford the drug, palbociclib, and women like me across the country will be denied this vital treatment. This simply isn’t fair.

Please support my campaign. Demand Pfizer charge the NHS £1 per pill.

For thousands of women across the UK, palbociclib (Ibrance) offers the hope of months of additional life with their family and friends. But Pfizer’s price - over £300 per pill - is way more than the NHS can afford.

When palbociclib can be made and sold at a profit for less than £1 I find your profiteering at the cost of women’s lives disgraceful.

Your company has already made well over £2 billion in sales of palbociclib. It is time to put the lives of women with breast cancer before your profits - drop your price to a pound per pill so the NHS can treat everyone who needs it.

Yours,
