Poway Unified, Urge Governor Newsom to End Oil Drilling!
Poway Unified School District Board
Attention all Poway Unified community members! Did you know that climate change fueled by oil extraction poses the greatest threat to our communities and the environment we rely on? This is why we need your help to join the Youth v. Oil campaign in taking action against this urgent issue!
The Youth v. Oil campaign is calling upon the Poway Unified School Board to pass a resolution that will help fight climate injustice and protect all Poway Unified students’ future. This resolution will urge CA Governor Newsom to stop issuing new oil drilling permits, begin phasing out existing oil wells, create safety zones between oil extraction sites and our communities, and develop a concrete plan to justly end oil drilling in California!
We need your support to make this happen! Join us in supporting this resolution and together, let's take a step toward a brighter, cleaner, and more sustainable future! Sign this petition to call on the Poway Unified School Board to vote YES!

As a Poway Unified School District resident, I urge you to support Youth v. Oil’s resolution calling on Governor Newsom to phase out oil drilling in California. We must leave fossil fuels in the ground to stop the climate crisis and preserve a liveable future for myself and all San Diegans. Already, thousands living near active oil wells and refineries are suffering and those who don’t are still feeling climate impacts such as heatwaves, drought, and wildfires. People in primarily low-income communities & communities of color near wells suffer from negative health impacts, and we must stand up for them. Please join me and other residents in supporting the Youth v. Oil resolution!
