Protect Faculty Rights!
West Valley Mission Community College District
Respect Our Contractual Agreements
Did you know that the administration is mandating WVMCCD counseling faculty to conduct all their online work from their campus offices, in violation of the contract (Article 51.2 B (5) ) Counselors who reject this mandate are being retaliated against by the administration! What's the administration's reason for this? That the contract does not "state that the District was required to allow faculty to remotely perform such work, much less that faculty would be allowed to work remotely in perpetuity" As a reference, Art 51.2 B (5) has been part of our faculty contract for seventeen years!
If the administration is allowed to continue with their attack on faculty rights and our Contract, and punish faculty who exercise their rights, the administration will only be emboldened to continue ignoring faculty contractual rights. The next step could be forcing instructional faculty to conduct DE courses from campus offices.
Let's stand in solidarity with our counseling faculty and against this egregious breach of the contract by signing this petition to demand the Board of Trustees direct administration to stop creating disruption and chaos and respect our contractual agreements!
