SIGN AND SHARE: PROTECT OUR WATER! Boycott Nestlé!

C. Heidi Grether, Director, Michigan DEQ; Theresa Seidel, Director, Water Resources Division, Michigan DEQ; Eric Oswald, Director, Drinking Water and Municipal Assistance Division, Michigan DEQ

Today the state approved a plan to give away millions of gallons of our water to Nestle, despite near universal opposition by the public. Yet the people of Flint and other communities lack access to clean drinking water. Instead of taking care of Michiganders, the state is lining the pockets of one of the largest corporations in the world. This is what happens when lobbyists and donors control our government and corruption is the currency of the realm.

As your representative in Congress I will fight every effort to appropriate public resources for private corporations. I will move to categorize all freshwater reserves as under the public trust doctrine and require an assessment of the impact of extraction on public health.

I call on you to join me today in boycotting Nestle and all of its holdings.

We demand that the Michigan DEQ revoke the authorization granted to Nestle on April 2, 2018 allowing them to steal untold amounts of water from our Great Lakes. These resources belong to the citizens of Michigan and surrounding states and are NOT FOR SALE.
