Ban Racist Politicians! Support Georgias Immigrant Community

Georgia

Our Athens immigrant community and allies will not stay silent in the face of anti-immigrant rhetoric that is trying to normalize hate and the separation of families across the country. We continue to face attacks from the Trump administration that is rounding up workers, parents, siblings, and children everywhere in the country by all means necessary. We are seeing local and state governments, both elected and appointed officials, pass and execute legislations and policies that are further criminalizing people and creating an environment of fear. And now, with elections around the corner for Georgia, we are seeing candidates use Trump's rhetoric of racism and xenophobia to create more fear and spread more hate.

Bringing "Deportation Buses" across our state that are a representation of what is already happening to our communities as ICE continues to round up our families. We cannot allow those candidates and politicians to have a platform, we must BAN candidates that use racist or hateful speech from our elections.

Today Dignidad Inmigrante en Athens will be confronting the hateful rhetoric and actions of racist politicians and let Michael Williams know that we will not stand for their HATE!

We know sanctuary cities are not enough - we are still under attack from racist police and politicians, we live with the fear of driving to school or work for fear of being pulled over and arrested for not having access to a license. We live with the fear that while we work we will be rounded by ICE. We have to live with the fear of the loss of TPS and DACA for our friends and family. Enough is enough. We need permanent protection and a stop to deportations!
