Raise the Wage for Fast-Food Workers

New York State Wage Board

Governor Andrew Cuomo just took a historic stand that could dramatically increase the wages of fast-food workers across the state and lift thousands out of poverty.

While the State Legislature is refusing to act because of Republican opposition to raising the minimum wage, the Governor has convened a wage board that has the power to raise wages for fast-food workers without legislative approval.

This could mean long overdue raises for workers struggling to make ends meet.

Let’s take action and urge the wage board to raise the wages of fast-food workers in New York State to $15 an hour.

Fast food company executive compensation is out of control while fast-food workers, who have been organizing, rallying and striking, badly need higher wages. I urge you to raise all New York State fast-food workers’ wages to a minimum of $15 an hour, which would lift many workers and their families out of poverty, reduce income inequality, and strengthen New York's economy.
