Reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act

U.S. Congress

Tell Congress to reauthorize and expand the Violence Against Women Act!

The House just voted to reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), but the real fight is getting it through the Senate. Reauthorization is just the bare minimum. We’re calling on Congress to expand VAWA to address the epidemic of violence against Indigenous women and girls by recognizing tribal protective orders, and granting tribal access to the national criminal database.

This legislation is front and center on Women’s Agenda for 2019, and we MUST pass it. Add your name and tell Congress we want #VAWA4All now!

I'm writing to ask you to vote to reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act and to support measures recognizing tribal protective orders and granting tribal access to the national criminal database.

I don't think you support violence against women. I think you agree that women deserve safety from gender-based violence. I'm writing to ask you to vote accordingly to address the crisis of violence against women in this country.

- One in three women have experienced physical violence by an intimate partner.
- One in five women have been raped in their lifetime.
- One in seven women have been stalked by an intimate partner and made to fear for their lives.

We don't have to live this way. Women shouldn't have to live this way. Please commit to voting to reauthorize and expand VAWA!
