Release immigrant father from detention NOW! #FreeDaniel

Secretary John Kelly, Tacoma Northwest Detention Center, Acting Field Office Director Bryan S. Wilcox

In Seattle, a father named Daniel Ramirez Medina has been detained by ICE agents for days. Daniel has DACA and is authorized to work in the US.

If Daniel, a father to a three-year-old son who has been here since he was seven, isn’t safe we are all at risk for deportation.

Daniel must be given his freedom, now. Donald Trump’s executive orders have made everyone a priority for deportation. In Trump’s America, no one is safe. Donald Trump, Secretary Kelly, and Republicans must say in no uncertain terms that DACA recipients are safe. DACA is a program that provides young undocumented immigrants a work permit and protects them from deportation. Daniel and other DACA recipients should not be at risk for deportation.

We demand the release Seattle father Daniel Medina immediately so he can be reunited with his family.

Daniel Ramirez Medina was taken into custody last week when ICE agents invaded his family’s home. Daniel is among the 750,000 DACA recipients in the US. We ask that you protect the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA, which gives young immigrants like Daniel a work permit and protects them from deportation.

As the head of DHS, which oversees immigration, you have the power to release Daniel. And as the Tacoma Northwest Detention Center, Acting Field Office Director Bryan S. Wilcox, you always have the power to release Daniel.

Daniel is a father and Seattle resident with work authorization who should not be detained.
