Remove Charlottesville Statues
Mayor Mike Signer and Councilwoman Kathy Galvin
On August 12, white supremacists, white nationalists, and neo-Nazis terrorized Charlottesville residents through violence and intimidation in order to not only preserve statues to two Confederate soldiers, but to preserve the system of white supremacy that they hold dear.
In response, local organizers are calling on Mayor Mike Signer and Councilwoman Kathy Galvin to change their previous votes against removing the Robert E. Lee statue, and to also remove all other local monuments to white supremacy, as a sign that they have the backs of Charlottesville residents as elected leaders.
