Tell Environmental Nonprofit Leadership: Respect Staff Unions

Leadership of U.S. Environmental Nonprofits

Workers at Appalachian Voices, Defenders of Wildlife, The Public Interest Network, Greenpeace USA, Sunrise Movement, National Audubon Society, Sierra Club, and Union of Concerned Scientists have created unions at their organizations so that they can pursue their good work at fair and equitable workplaces. Instead of recognizing the value of workers' voices, management at these environmental organizations have tried to stymie their efforts to negotiate union contracts that include equitable policies.

Add your name to our petition to call on these environmental leaders to respect their workers and stop union busting!

Staff at environmental non-profits work hard and with passion for their organizations' missions. They have organized staff unions because they know their good work needs a good workplace. Just as workers invest themselves in their work, nonprofits should invest in their workers.

I am calling on the management and boards of Appalachian Voices, The Public Interest Network, Defenders of Wildlife, Greenpeace USA, National Audubon Society, Sunrise Movement, Sierra Club, and Union of Concerned Scientists to respect their staff unions, commit to workplaces free of discrimination and union-busting, stop the use of anti-union consultants, and negotiate fair contracts.
