Restore Trust in the Justice System and the Supreme Court

Senate Democrats: Leader Schumer and Chairman Durbin

Restore Trust in the Justice System and the Supreme Court

It is imperative that the Supreme Court, the highest judicial body in the nation, live up to the highest ethical standards.

The fact that Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito have accepted gifts and vacations from billionaire benefactors, without disclosing them to the American public, is a disgrace. The Senate has the power to investigate this corruption and Senator Dick Durbin, the Judiciary Chair, should launch a full inquiry into the two justices' misconduct right away. Moreover, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer should bring a bill to pass a Supreme Court code of ethics to the Senate floor as soon as possible.

Can you take 1 (one) minute and sign on to our joint letter to call on Senate Democratic leaders to prevent further corruption in the Supreme Court and help restore public trust?

We will deliver your names to their offices at the end of October.

The American public should have access to a Supreme Court that is untainted by corruption, and in light of the disconcerting corruption cases, the Justices should be held to account.

Senator Dick Durbin, in his role as chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, should take action to investigate the possibly unlawful actions of Justices Thomas and Alito, and subpoena Harlan Crow and other related individuals to give a thorough report of the supposed wrongdoing.

Additionally, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer should call for a full Senate vote on the Supreme Court Ethics, Recusal, and Transparency Act also known as SCERT, which would obligate the Supreme Court to follow and abide by a code of ethics.

Respectfully submitted,
