Revamp Shooters Hill parade of shops
Royal Borough of Greenwich Council
As part of her five point plan for Kidbrooke, Carol O'Toole is launching a petition to improve the area outside the parade of shops on Shooters Hill Road.
The area behind is unpaved and attracts antisocial behaviour. Fly-tipped rubbish builds up continually.
On the street side the paving is in a terrible state and dangerous to pedestrians. The council has completely neglected the area for decades.
Sign Carol's petition today to help force the council to take notice!
Carol's 5 point plan for Kidbrooke
- Tackle the increasing problems of litter and fly-tipping
- Campaign to improve the area around the Shooters Hill shopping parade
- Hold the council to account on improving air quality
- Conserve mature trees and biodiversity in the ward
- Protect public access to open green spaces. The pandemic has highlighted their importance to health and wellbeing

For the attention of the Greenwich Council:
I am writing to ask for urgent improvements to be made to the area around the parade of shops on Shooters Hill Road.
On the street side, the paving is in a terrible state and is dangerous to pedestrians. The area behind is unpaved and attracts anti-social behaviour. The fly-tipping has built up massively and looks as if it hasn't been tackled for years. It's the opposite of a zero-tolerance policy, it practically encourages people!
The area is desperate for suitable waste disposal options. Why could the council not set up a Terracycle hub and make it an example rather than an eyesore?
Kidbrooke is an area already marked as deficient in green spaces. There is an opportunity for enhancing the area with planters for greenery. Could a pocket park be created with seating at the front of the parade to make it a social space for all ages? There could even be a play area established for small children to help keep them away from the road.
We all know that Kidbrooke Village is a growing area getting lots of attention but it's not the only area that matters. The other residents of Kidbrooke do not deserve to be left behind.
