Say no to a large digital advertising screen on Brixton Road!

Lambeth Council

We want to be free to travel around Brixton without being bombarded by huge digital advertising screens.

Billboard company Daylite is proposing to install a new digital billboard on 253 Brixton Road, replacing an existing poster site with a taller digital screen with new images displaying up to every 5 seconds.

These huge advertising screens typically promote new cars, fast fashion and fast food and require a huge amount of electricity to operate. They also cause light pollution for pedestrians and residents and are a major safety concern for road users.

Lambeth Council will decide on the planning application after the deadline on 16th February 2021.

Please sign and share the petition. Let's have our say and object to this unnecessary digital screen.

Re: Planning application 21/00140/ADV | Replacement of existing advertisement with an internally static illuminated LED digital display. | 253 Brixton Road London SW9 6LH

We the undersigned would like to live, work and play in Brixton without being bombarded by bright new digital advertising selling us new cars, fast fashion or junk food. The proposed new screen would harm the amenity of the area and be a dangerous distraction to motorists, cyclists and pedestrians.

You can read more about our reasons for objecting to this specific application here: https://adfreecities.org.uk/adblock-lambeth-digital-screen-brixton-road/

Please reject this planning application.

Yours sincerely,
