George Arison, CEO of Grindr

Grindr employees are officially out of the closet and forming a union, Grindr United, with the Communications Workers of America.

Grindr is the largest LGBTQIA+ dating app. By joining together in a union, members of Grindr United-CWA are committed to ensuring Grindr remains a safe, inclusive and thriving place for both its users and workers.

Over 490 anti-LGBTQ bills have been introduced across the U.S. Now, more than ever, Grindr employees believe it is crucial to stand united and push back against these assaults on equality and inclusivity by joining together to exercise their power at work.

Rather than recognize the union, the company has escalated its union-busting tactics by issuing a new return-to-office policy requiring staff to relocate to other cities or be fired. This is not only unacceptable, but illegal!

As a Grindr user and member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I’m calling on you to respect your workers’ right to organize and to negotiate in good faith to realize their vision for a stronger, more inclusive Grindr.

As Grindr users, we value the workers whose labor allows us to connect with our community and live our best queer lives. Grindr workers deserve a seat at the table, economic security, and a union contract that enshrines existing benefits and expands on them to better embody the values and spirit of the app.

I stand in solidarity with Grindr United and I hope a fair union contract is zero feet away!
