Shut down cruel puppy mill where 12 dogs were found dead in the freezer

Van Zandt County District Attorney Chris Martin

An illegal puppy mill in Van Zandt County, Texas hid a horrifying secret: a dead dog and 11 dead puppies were found wrapped in plastic bags and placed in the freezer.

For the 72 surviving dogs and puppies, conditions were horrendous. Animals lived in cramped wire crates among piles of feces, with no access to food or water. Dogs suffered from fur loss, ear problems, eye issues and other illnesses. The house was soaked in urine, and tested at dangerously high levels of ammonia.

When law enforcement and the Texas SPCA raided the alleged puppy mill, the owner admitted to selling the puppies for profit.

The dogs were seized from the property and are safe for now, but their future is uncertain. A custody hearing will take place soon, and it's entirely possible that they could end up right back at this house of horrors.

Sign this petition urging the Van Zandt County District Attorney to ensure that this puppy mill owner does not get the dogs back, and is prohibited from ever owning another animal again. It's time to shut this cruel breeder down for good.
