Every 28 hours a black man, woman, or child is murdered by police or vigilante law enforcement.

The horror of losing a loved one, to senseless state-sanctioned violence is a daily threat in the lives of black people in America. In a time when law enforcement kill black Americans at nearly the same rate as Jim Crow era lynchings, discriminatory and violent policing is a national crisis.

Communities across the country are protesting systems of injustice and inequality that systematically and intentionally harm black people. #BlackLivesMatter is a call to action and a response to the virulent anti-black racism that permeates our society.
